About

integrative breathwork sessions

Breathwork is a gentle yet transformational modality for inner exploration and deep processing. It's anchored in exploring our patterns of breathing and what is stored in our bodies.

Breathwork is a beautiful, powerful, and fundamental practice available to all of us all of the time. It is as simple as lying down, relaxing, and breathing - and continuing to breathe with whatever we start to feel.

When we actually make the time to do this, we give our bodies the opportunity to let the things we need to feel and express come out, and we gain access to greater understanding, wisdom, and direction.

Breathing is one of the most basic ways we support our aliveness. When done consciously and with the support of a facilitator, it can greatly enhance our sense of connection to ourselves, others, and the world we inhabit.

Client Testimonials

Doing this work enabled me to tap into parts of myself I did not know were there. Wounds, resources, benefactors, skills... I feel a greater sense of expansion.

Not only do I feel like I know myself better but I also reconnected with the experience of wonder I felt as a child, gazing at the mystery of life.

I walk the earth and move through my life differently now.

-- Guillaume C.

Sessions with Em have been truly life changing; they go to places I would never expect, but are exactly what I need. Em is so good at helping me draw connections (in my own stuff, but also how that’s connected to larger systems in the world), find patterns, uncover revelations, and go deep, even when it feels scary. She’s incredibly intuitive, supportive and validating, honest and so fun!! I feel like I’m really uncovering some deep shit and making real shifts in my life that I’ve been wanting to make for a long time.

-- Sarah S.

The sessions have been a wonderful complement to more traditional therapy for me, allowing me to explore myself more deeply and intuitively.

Em has a true gift for knowing which threads to tug on to help unravel the inner tangle, bit by bit

-- Ciara P.

Benefits of Breathwork

Each breathwork session will be different.

However, clients often leave with an increased sense of:

  • Understanding
  • Clarity
  • Resolve
  • Capacity
  • Inspiration

Breathwork can help to relax our nervous systems, regulate our emotions, process difficult experiences, manage pain, reduce stress, balance our blood pH, build resilience during challenges, raise our self-awareness, and can improve immune system function and digestion. Beyond that, it also often connects us to sources of wisdom and perspectives that were harder to access at the beginning of the session.

Bringing attention to breathing helps to improve how breath moves throughout the body, and helps unconscious or unprocessed emotions, energy, information, and experiences rise to the surface. When this happens, we are better able to recognize, experience, and release whatever we need to. As a part of this process, people often have the experience of accessing more information around the issues that they came in with.

My role as your facilitator

As your facilitator, my job is to accompany you through whatever starts to come up as you breathe, to help you open up your breathing in areas where I notice it might be shut down, and to encourage you to continue when the going gets tough. I love accompanying people through these vulnerable, transformative, and consistently inspiring experiences.

I bring a firm commitment to holding you without judgement and to affirm your inherent goodness when harder things begin to surface. Breathing in this way can be such a deeply intimate experience with yourself, and it is an honor to be trusted by folks to be there with them through it. It's a responsibility I hold with a lot of delight.

Is this for me?

I work with folks who are yearning for more avenues to explore their inner, invisible dynamics - often people who are looking for ways to do this that are different from what they've tried in the past. People come to breathwork for a variety of reasons, including things like: wanting support through life pivots and transitions, wanting to feel more connected and alive, and wanting to better understand themselves and their feelings.

You do not need to be spiritual or have familiarity with breathing techniques to do breathwork - at all. You are welcome to come as you are, you are welcome even if you've never thought about your own breathing before this moment. Very few of us grew up learning anything about what we can gain by paying attention to our breathing.

I specifically have experience supporting queer, trans, and nonbinary folks, people in non-normative relationship orientations and models, and people from a range of sexual orientations including those who do not experience their sexuality as a primary driver in their lives.

If working with me doesn't feel like a good fit, I'm working on a referral list of breathworkers who come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. It will be listed here soon, but until then you are welcome to reach out to ask me for a referral directly.
